Ministry Wingman

July 24, 2008

(Pictured: Jonathan Herron, lead pastor; Mark Driscoll, president of Acts 29; Matt Simon, Ministry Wingman; and Dave Sparks, Family Environments).
I’m excited to announce that Matt Simon is joining the Catalyst Team in the strategic role of my Wingman. Matt has been part of the Catalyst community since the Spring of 2007, was baptized as a believer in May of ‘07, and is beginning work toward his Master’s in Theology this Fall.

As Ministry Wingman, Matt will be coming alongside me in an unpaid Deacon staff role. Matt will soon begin filtering through all emails and phone calls that come my way and assisting me with my daily schedule. Communications among different ministry leaders will also be key to Matt’s new role.

Please be praying as we iron out details of this new staff role. – Jonathan

A quick update on Phase One progress:

Thompson Electric will be working in the125 on July 28/29 to finish up all electric in Phase One – - looks like just the far rear room and rear restroom are left to finish painting by the 28th (looks GREAT!).

This week we’re getting bids on carpeting for the125; once electric is done early next week, we’ll have carpet installed in Phase One (up to the double-doors).

Once that’s finished, we will move kids classrooms into Phase One, thus freeing us up to take on Phase Two. This could happen as early as August 3rd or 10th. Watch the CataBlog for details as they develop.

Our goal to pray for is this: To completely finish Phase Two (gutted, cleaned up, painted, electric, carpet) by August 24th. That will give us time to move in new furniture, train our new Catalyst KIDS volunteers, and be ready to rock ‘n roll the first Sunday in September (coincides with tons of family outreach stuff we’re taking on).

Please be praying this week as we are in talks with potential financial donors about one-time gift opportunities…

Congrats, Seals!

July 19, 2008

Ben Seals & Amanda Boyle are uniting in marriage this weekend in the great nation of Texas. After a honeymoon to Seattle (including a visit to mecca, Mars Hill), the Seals will reside in Fairlawn and rock the house at Catalyst. Congrats Ben & Amanda!

Baptisms July 27th

July 19, 2008

baptizo (v): to dip or immerse.

When someone receives Christ into their life, transformation occurs.

The outward symbol of the inward change is called “baptism.”

Are you a follower of Christ?
You are invited to be baptized as a believer during Catalyst on Sunday, July 27th. Email us for more info.

Celebrate new life. July 27th.
Baptisms @ Catalyst.
